The Korean Program is proud to announce the results of the first Mid-Atlantic Korean Speech Contest organized by George Washington University and held on April 22, 2022.

There was a total of twenty-six participants in three proficiency levels from eleven universities:

American University
George Mason University
Georgetown University
George Washington University
Johns Hopkins University
Pennsylvania State University
University of Maryland, Baltimore County
University of Maryland, College Park
University of Pennsylvania
University of Pittsburgh
University of Virginia

The three UVA students who participated in the contest demonstrated their outstanding Korean language skills. The judges, contestants, and audience were very impressed by our students’ speeches, and we would like to recognize our students for their excellent performance.

Christine Kim received the certificate of achievement in Level 1, Anusha Choudhary won first place (Gold Prize, $800) in Level 2, and Christine Jiwon Yu won second place (Silver Prize, $500) in Level 3.
