DEALLC offers language placement exams twice a year, prior to the beginning of each academic semester. Refer to each of the language program links for specific requirements.  Please plan to attend the language placement test before your semester starts, as no make-up exams are given.

Completion of Foreign Language Requirement:  Students can meet the Foreign Language Requirement by successfully completing one of the following: 

• Earn exemption if you place beyond the 2020 level by examination
• Take 14 credits or four semesters of a language in the proper sequence
• After placement, complete the remaining courses in the sequence up to the fourth semester (usually 2020)
