The Association for Asian Studies, which is the largest academic association on research and teaching about Asia, issued the linked statement in opposition to anti-Asian violence. The Department of East Asian Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Virginia expresses its total solidarity with the position of the AAS, abhorring any form of violence, discrimination, or hostility against Asians, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
