Chinese major and ROTC cadet Joseph Riley has fulfilled his ambition to be named a Rhodes scholar for the forthcoming academic year. Valued at between $50,000 to $175,000, the scholarships fully fund two or three years of study at England's Oxford University. Riley will be the 48th Rhodes scholarship recipient from UVA. His ambitions include pursuing a Master's degree and then a Doctorate at the hallowed British university. Among numerous other projects and activities, he is co-authoring a book with Dale Copeland, associate professor and director of undergraduate studies in U.Va.’s Woodrow Wilson Department of Politics. For a detailed profile of Mr. Riley and his many accomplishments, see the article in UVA Today.
