We are delighted to share that Abigial Barr (Class of 2026, History&Philosophy major and Chinese minor) has been accepted into the Harvard–Yenching Academy’s 2026 cohort, a highly competitive and prestigious international graduate program based at Peking University. Abigail was selected from a global pool of applicants and will join an exceptional cohort of Yenching Scholars from around the world beginning in September 2026.

The Yenching Academy offers a fully funded interdisciplinary master’s program focused on China studies, providing scholars with access to outstanding faculty, extensive research resources, and a vibrant international academic community. As a Yenching Scholar, Abigail will engage in advanced coursework, participate in student-led initiatives such as the Yenching Global Symposium, and pursue research opportunities across China.

The Yenching Scholarship covers tuition, housing, living expenses, medical insurance, and round-trip travel, as well as funding for research and conference participation. Scholars may also apply for a second-year scholarship to continue their studies in Beijing.

We congratulate Abigail on this remarkable achievement and look forward to following their academic journey at the Yenching Academy!
