Faculty/Staff Changes

• The department welcomes Professor Charles Laughlin as the new Department Chair. Professor Laughlin has transitioned to this role from his previous role as Director of the East Asia Center. 
• The department also welcomes Jean Blackwell, our new Business Manager. 
• Two new faculty, Professor Jack Chen and Yupeng Kou were also added to our department this semester. Professor Chen will teach Chinese content courses and the East Asian Studies intro course while Yupeng Kou will teach Chinese language courses.
• Professor Anne Kinney will be on leave for the AY 2016-2017, and Professor Michiko Wilson will be on leave for the Fall 2016 semester. 
• Additionally, our Administrative Coordinator will end her service to the department this month in order to pursue a career change. We wish her the best with her new opportunity!
