Sixteen University of Virginia scholars will pursue their work on foreign shores with the help of the Fulbright U.S. Student Program this year – a record number for UVA, which recently was cited among the top producers of Fulbright recipients in the nation. Kelly Slatery of Alexandria, who graduated in May as a double major in cognitive science (with a concentration in linguistics) and East Asian studies (concentrating on China), will work in Taiwan as an English teaching assistant.
